ITB China describes itself as a platform that brings together industry professionals from China and worldwide, with exhibitor-side participation spanning the tourism value chain. The official “About” and “What’s to be discovered” messaging indicates exhibitor profiles such as destinations and associations, accommodation providers, transportation and carriers, business travel and MICE providers, DMCs and tour operators, attractions and retail/shopping services, themed travel suppliers, travel technology, investment/consulting and media. On the buyer side, the organiser promotes hosted and buyer programmes, including a hosted buyer model where approved buyers are required to pre-schedule and attend meetings via the matchmaking system, which increases the probability of decision-maker conversations and improves meeting predictability for exhibitors.
